Text: Article on the B.O.S. contracted in July with Delano Aerial Survey to take aerial photos at a 1:12,000 scale of the northern portion of Humboldt County. The photos were taken in August excluding the National Forest. The article notes the 1941 & 1948 aerials were flown to produce 1:20,000 scale photos. One square inch on the 9X9" print covers 63 3/4 acres. On the 1:12,000 print 1 sq. inch covers 23 acres. The 1:12,000 photos were recommended to be taken with a 12" foot focal length camera. The southern part of County will be flown in 1959. 50 stereo prints cover one township ( 6 miles X 6 miles).
