"Coy is here to get data on early history" Coy is here gathering additional info on the history of this part of the state. For a number of years he was head of the history department at Eureka High. He researched the records in the Hum. Co. Ct. Hs., Humboldt papers, the statistics and records of old pioneers. Two years ago he resigned his position at the University to take charge of the work of the Historical Survey Commission, created by the legislature in 1915. He is now on his way to examine the archives of Trinity Co. and Del Norte Co. He spent time going over the newspapers of the Humboldt Times, of which it began publishing on Sept. 2, 1854. Its files are practically complete.
