Text: Dedication of the final link of 4 lane freeway 101 in Southern Humboldt took place at the Maple Hills Bridge yesterday morning. This section is know as Unit 4 and runs 24 miles from Maple Hills Bridge to Sylvandale. It completes the bypass around Humboldt Basin Redwood State Park. Construction of the next unit will extend it 2.2 miles to Dean Creek, and is well underway.
