Text: The 140 acre Harris Whittemore Memorial Redwood Grove will be dedicated on Sept. 21. It's a few miles west of 101. He was born in Nov. 25, 1864, in Naugatuck, Connecticut. He was president of numerous eastern manufacturing firms and was known as a philanthropist and pioneer in reforestation work.
