Text: The dedication of the plague and monument marking the A. Jacoby Building as a California Historical Landmark #783 will occur at 10am today. The Jacoby building was built in 1856. The original Brizard store was across the plaza from the Jacoby building on the NE corner where the Arcata Hotel is currently located. Brizard's Store burned down in 1875. There's A photo c. 1876 - 1877 looking SW across the plaza. The main events are to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Brizard stores in the County. Mules will pack mail from Arcata to Hoopa along the old pack trails.
