Text: " Snow MTN Company Throws down Gauntlet to Humboldt County". "Notifies C of C that county has no claim to waters of the Eel River and Dam Will Go" After several months of deliberations, the Snow Mtn Power Company has taken a defiant stand re: the construction of a dam on Eel River for impounding the waters of that stream for power purposes and then diverting the waters through a tunnel into the RR & has notified the Humboldt County C of C that as that body had made no appl to the state water commission for water for any purposes outlined in its protest. The company intends to ignore the protest and to proceed with its pbns as indicated by the copy of its answer to the Humboldt County Chamber's protest which the county has filed with the commission in S.F.
