Place: Crescent City Trinidad

Text: Crescent City has drifted redwood in front along the beach and swamp and dead forest behind it. It is a tough hard knot of a town with 2 sawmills, one 3 miles above town & one contiguous. A pier reaches some 500-600 feet out into the water. Between Crescent City and Trinidad there are scarcely a dozen fams. He saw green fields of potatoes.
