Text: "An Early Day Picture of Old Fort Humboldt." Article with old photo on Ft. Hum. In 1930 Mrs. M.B. Cooper and her daughter deeded the property of Ft. Hum to the city. At about that time the OAR obtained a large rock from the U.S. Army Engineers who were engaged in jetty constr. They placed a bronze marker on it. The rock came from Medicine Rock near Trinidad. Will Speagle has suggested that some plan be outlined whereby the veterans of WWII might have a club house with fireside and cheer.
