Page contains good early history Garberville. Photos also of Palace Hotel, Blocksbug Hotel, Stage Coach, and famous tree in downtown section. First road was construction by Chinese and reached Blocksburg in 1875. Construction finally connected in 1878 with road running north from Cloverdale. One of the largest Indian villages was at spot now occupied by Roscoe Hope Ranch House.
