Text: A mighty earthquake occurred Wednesday night in Alaska. This article gives first person accounts of what happened in Lituya bay. 50' foot wall of water, etc. Witnesses said about 500 yards of the south end of Khantaak Island heaved 20' feet into the air, then fell into the bay. The island is about a mile offshore.
