Mercer Fraser has a large crew working on the construction of the new bridge over the Eel River south of Scotia. The crews are removing many redwood trees from the banks of the Eel River upstream of the approaches. By the end of the week the State Highway Commission will have a 150 man crew with teams and scrapers cleaning up the highway between Salmon Creek and Garberville.
