Text: Ethel wrote in a March 24, 1904 letter that the train trip from Arcata to Luffenholtz was "the train goes very slowly and is very rough & jolty". She had to stay the night in Trinidad which wasd "full of drunks. The next morning they left for stone Lagoon. "The roads were mash and dread fully cut up."
