Text: The B.O.S. agreed to budget $30,000 for half the cost of new bridge over Freshwater (sic) [Eureka Slough] on the proposed cutoff [now RW state 101 Highway between Eureka and Arcata]. This admin followed a presentation by highway commissioner C.F. Stern and reps of local businesses. Local businessmen had enthusiastically endorsed the request from Stern that the county pay for half of the bridge. The state will prepare the plans.
