Text: "Pipe of Peace Smoked: Excavation Continues" An verbal agreement was reached between the local Indians & UC. arch. on the excav. of Tsurai. The excav. will continue for another 3 weeks. 2 holes have already been started. Some local Indians & citizens have raised objections but problems were ironed out at a meeting on Monday night. 8/18= Thursday. The arch. said the excav. is an old village- not a burial ground. The land is owned by Fred Hauck, Ray Walker and Earl Hallmark, all of whom have cooperated in a allowing the excav.
