Rare photo of Fort Humboldt. Ambrotype photo circa 1854-57. On page 4, col. 2, it states that photos were enclosed with letters written to the father of Mrs. Simpson by the mother of Mrs. Charles M. McCutcheon. Mrs. Harriet St. John Simpson, lived at Fort Humboldt in 1854 through 1857. She was the wife of Dr. Josiah Simpson, surgeon in the U.S. Army, who was attached to the Fort during 1854-57. They had a daughter who's current name is Mrs. Charles McCutcheon. These old photos are on display at the museum.
