Text: Fred Smythe has purchased all the stages, horses, harness and related equip. from the Overland Auto Company. For the past 2 years he has operated the overland autos for the Overland Auto Company. This company carries all the U.S. mail. The mail is now carried 30 miles from Cummings to Harris by auto operated by Smythe. This new service will allow mail from S.F. to be delivered in 25 hours. The 1,100 foot tunnel at Bryan's Bluff has been tunneled for 700 feet. The contractor expects to complete the tunnel by next August. Soundings are now being made for the Railroad bridge at Larabee Creek.
