Hearing with ranchers presented damage for erosion during flood

Text: At a hearing yesterday, ranchers in the Eel delta presented descriptions of losses of land due to erosion during flood to the U.S.C.O.E. in the County Courthouse. They noted that the Eel delta contains 33,280 acres. During the past 40 years they estimated. that some 3,000 acres have been washed away. Same 19,000 acres of this delta is subject to floods and are in great danger of being washed away before many years collapse owing to changes in river channels and bends at different points. To solve all these problems. The report by the ranchers recommend the river channel be the straightening of the channel to carry the water off more swiftly. The report was submitted to the hearing by M.L. Clausen, Present of the Eel River Delta Associon.
