Text: W.H. Roscon rain gauge data gathered at upper Mattole. 41 inches fall in January. No old times have ever seen that much. At one time during the storm the rainfall rate was 1/2 inch per hour for 25 hours. River remained at a very high stage for 3 days. The Mattole + its north fork were higher than the high water mark of 1862.
