Text: Whole page article on history of Garberville through an interview of Mrs. Georgia Samp, age 90. She was the proprietor of the Commercial Hotel. She has lived in Garberville since 1914. Before that she lived in Briceland in the 1880's. Her husband Edward was a foreman on the road crew, For 16 years. they lived on a ranch 3 miles from Andersonia on Moody Rd. In 1914 they bought what is now known as the Wes Marshall Ranch. She lost her husband 6 months later due to illness. In 1925 she built her present home; the same year as when the Redwood Inn was built. This article was written by Hazel Hill.
