Text: History & photo of the old Winship elementary school plus history of the area by Ru - Flo Harper Lee. This was the first of 4 secondary school building built by the district taxpayers in 102 years. The Winship school was demolished in 1926. Turkeys , sheep & cattle were driven to market though the yellow dust and brown mud of Harris street. Ru - Flo graduated from high school in 1921.
