Text: Work on the Pacific Lumber company 3182 bulkhead at Fields Landing is progressing rapidly. Three train loads of rock from Freshwater quarris arrives daily for use on the bulkhead. It is estimated that 15,000 tons of rock will be required in addition to 3000-4000 cy of dirt. Around the first of Sept. the big dredger will arrive and dig a 244 feet wide straight channel through South Bay to the entrance. The channel will be 20 feet deep at mean low tide. The present channel makes it necessary to make many turns & loops before docking at Fields Landing.
