Text: Indian "Wike Lily" died. One of the best & well know Indians of south humboldt county. He was a guide for the soldiers & Indian fighters. Had always remained loyal to the whites. He was nearly 100 yrs old. He always addresses a crowd on July 4 in his native tongue. He was considered by Indians of this area as council & doctor of marked ability. Also Pierce Asbil, being seriously ill, was moved to the county hospital.
