Text: Under "It Happened Long, Long Ago" 25 yrs ago During the week of 11/27/1913. A miniature tidal wave caused by an exceptionally high tide combined by a southerly storm filled the bay to overflowing yesterday, 1) doing considerable damage at the South Spit where the government is rebuilding the jetty, 2) washing out the dike on Guther's Island, 3) flooding the Humboldt Transit County's powerhouse to the danger line, 4) washing out the road bed of the NWP Railroad at the bulkhead south of Eureka.
