Place: Elk river Eureka

Text: Jacob Oscar Showers died yesterday at his home in Elk river. He arrived in Eureka at the foot of F street on Feb. 22, 1851. He and the other passengers aboard the Susan Wardwell under command of Capt. Wasgatt, were greeted by R.W. Brett, C.S. Ricks, and Amos Crane, the only people living there at the time. ( The other people may have run to Gold Bluffs- gold rush).
