Text: " Gov. Jetty Road Work to Commence Soon! The contract with Mercer Fraser with the U.S. Gov. to construction, & grade a road bed from Samoa to the North Jetty has been accepted. Another project calling for bids is for the laying of track on the road bed & the construction of a 600' feet long trestle on the North Jetty over the stretch that was washed away in the past few years and the stone for the jetty work.
