Text: Members of the Klamath River Conservation committee of the State Legislature, following an appraisal of the Upper Klamath fishing conditions and the cannery near the mouth announced in Yreka yesterday that they will recommend to the 1931 session of the legislature that the cannery be closed. And commercial fishing on the river be closed. The members, along with reps. of the governor's state game refuge commission & chairman of the Humboldt F & G commission, investigated the Big Lagoon area where the state is contemplating the establishment of a waterfowl refuge up there.
