Text
Lentell finished surveying 29 3/5 miles of the so-called southern route that runs from Low Gap to Peanut. At Peanut the survey connected with the Salt Creek wagon road which passes through Weaverville and Red Bluff. State Highway Commissioner Nat Elley and Assemblyman J.W. McClelland walked the entire surveyed. Upon completion of the survey, Lentell moved his crew over to the so-called northern route where he will survey the 30 miles between North Fork and Burnt Ranch. Currently, there is a wagon road from Korbel to Burnt Ranch. The new survey camp is at North Fork in Trinity County.
