Text: Bulldozers leveling a site in Manila for a proposed site for a copper smelter plant. The corp. is located in San Fran. & is headed by Dr. C. Charles Celestri. He also intends to smelt chrome and other metallic ores. The 80 acres parcel was owned by Alice Gihlstrom of S.F. The ore is produced just north of Hoopa & presently is trucked to Redding, then transferred to rail & taken to Portland. The county will build large vats & the $250,000 plant should be in operation by the first of the year.
