Text: "News 25 yrs ago" 1908. Burr McComaha, pioneer Humboldt county transp. man will leave for S.F. to purchase same motorized autos for the Trinidad to Crescent City run. The first auto put on that run was a Kissel Kar with Bert Reed as a chauffeur. In good weather it took 5 hours vs. a 10 - 12 hour run with horse and carriage. Forest fires were raging from Camp 13 of Vance's to Essex camp #16. The Trinidad train was detained due to burned out trestles.
