Place: Trinity River Donahue Ranch Jerry Smith ranch

Text: A group of men reports that a 6 mile section of the highway under construction along the Trinity River is graded. This section is between the mouth of the South Fork Trinity to Donahue's Ranch. It should be completed by July 31st. The old suspended bridge over the Trinity River at the Jerry Smith ranch will be replaced with a bridge a 1/4 mile upstream. The route followed was formerly a trial over which only a pack train of mules could carry supplies.
