Text: PL has completed the construction of new "Mill C" 11 miles up Elk River from 101. This mill is for making lumber from re-logging operations about 6 miles up river towards Yager Creek. D-8 cuts will be used to drag out old left over logs from earlier ops. This will began ops in August 5, 1957. After the logs are sawed the lumber is taken to Scotia where its made into finished lumber. The trees in the selected area were logged between 1935 - 1949 by Dolbeer - Carson Company while some parts were logged before 1900. In 1951 the rails for the old railroad were removed and sold.
