Place: Arcata Mad River Mill Creek

Text: The new section of the RW Highway from Arcata to Mad River and from Mad Riv. to Mill Crk is scheduled to be opened to traffic on Friday, Dec 20th. As soon as weather permits the new road will be paved with a 20' wide strip of bituminous macadam. This paving will connect with the new pavement just completed from Mill Crk north to Little River. Additional paving from orick to the north county line is planned as soon as weather permits. Grading has recently been completed on the Beatrice to Loleta cut off. It won't be open to the public. Contracts will be let fans treating the road with a hard surface, constr. of an under-grade crossing at Loleta and a overhead pass at Beatrice.
