A new transportation system will be developed between Eureka & Sherwood by June. Messrs Cross & King of the Overland Stage Company announced some months ago the plan to supplant their old stages with automobiles. F.W. Smythe of Eureka has formed a company to begin an overland auto service. The autos will leave Eureka at 7am and board a 20 HP White Steam touring car, pass the night at Bell Springs and reach S.F. the next evening. Average speed ~ 7&1/2 mph.
