Rodney Burns, founder of the Stump House in 1909? (around 1907) at Clark and Broadway, passed away. He was 67. For a time he worked at the old Richardson Mill at 4th and E (site of the present Christ Episcopal Church). Here he perceived the possible market for redwood burl novelties and opened a shop in the old Occidental Mill. He left Eureka a few months ago and turned the Stump House over to his nephew, Lee Clark.
