Text: Peter Peters, Indian patriarch, 96-years old, well known in the Trinidad area as Trinidad Pete, passed on at a Eureka hospital yesterday morning following a brief illness. He leaves his widow, Emma. He was born in Humboldt County, the son of Jupe Lagoon, a well-known, early-day Mad River Indian who was a friend of the whites in the day of Indian troubles here; and is buried in the soldiers' plot in the Arcata Cemetery.
