Place: Elk River

Text: History of Ricks Water Company. The pumping site was a mile from Elk River Corners. All the buildings at that spot burned in a fire. Last week workman took the old concrete smokestack down. That was built in 1900 or 1901. Jack Griffiths, Supt. of Public Works, built the stack. The stack was the brainchild of H.L. Ricks.
