Text: To go overland from Eureka to S.F. you first go to Elinor on the railroad for 36 miles. Then you take the stage to Sherwood 105 miles. Then back on the Railroad for 152 miles to S.F. Total distance is 293 miles & it takes 50 hours which includes steps. NWP has secured P/W & surveyed a line for the 105 mile gap between Elinor and Sherwood.
