Text: The people of Petrolia attended the dedication of the new wharf built by the Mattole Lumber Company near the mouth of the Mattole. Many people from other parts of the county also attended. A railroad will be built from the companies' camps down to and out on the wharf. The wharf extends out 800 feet to a rock and another 60 feet beyond that rock to provide sufficient depth of water. Cost was est. ~ $40,000.
