Text: Photo of dedication of the Arcata Community Forest and an article. The community forest was given to the city by Noah Falk in the 1920's. The forest was logged off nearly 80 years ago by James Gannon. Prof. Woodbridge Metcalf, UC Extension forester, has been making growth studies of the forest since 1923.
