Text: Photo of Norman R. Smith, born in 1848, along with an article on his 99 year life. He now lives at Moonstone Beach. He first came to Hum. Co. in 1878. The Vance Hotel was just a 2 story bldg. His father was lost at sea when the Brother Jonathan went down in 1856. Norman helped run surveys for the Alaskan RR. His father founded Port Angeles, Washington.
