Place: Mattole Van Duzen River Bridgeville

Text: Photo of suspension over the Mattole being taken apart so it can be moved to the site on the Van Duzen River downstream of Bridgeville to provide access to a new subdiv (Golden Gate). Shirley Gunlock bought the bridge from the County. A new bridge over the Mattole has been completed 3 yrs ago 100 yards upstream. The suspension bridge was heavily damaged in the 55 flood. It was 30 years old. ( See p.27 in 8/12/1962 issue)
