Text: 3/4 photos of D-8's ripping and excavating at the Manganese Mine just north of Shelter Cove. It's an open-pit mine. The ore is under 50 feet of overburden. The ore contains 50% manganese and is shipped to government stockpiles at Fort Worth, Texas. The Queen Peak Mining Company is doing the work. Its a local company with Carl Makela and Into Wirta as principal officers.
