PL company announced they have purchased the Dolbeer-Carson Lumber Company. The Dolbeer- Carson Company was founded by William Carson on 4/17/1863. Men working in either of the mills today will recall that their fathers in some instances, their grandfathers, worked for the same organizen, continued a tradition handed down through the passing generations. Timber holdings of the Dolbeer Carson Company are principally in the Elk River & Van Duzen Watershed. PL was founded in 1883. The article goes on to cover the history of both companies. Dolbeer died in 1902. William Carson died Feb. 19, 1912. He built in the first large business building in Eureka, the Carson Building at 3rd & F.
