Senator Hans C. Nelsory spoke about the problem with Snow Mtn Water & Power Company that Humboldt county is now up against. The application of Snow Mtn Water & Power company requests permission to divert 400 cfs to the Railroad. The Snow Mtn Water & Power argues that their current permit allows them to divert 400 cfs of the regular flow of the river. Sen. Nelson believes this is more than the entire flow of the river. The permit says they may divert all to which they are entitled. This is one question to be determined at the 9/16 public hearing. The other part of the application requests permission to store water all year. The current permit only allows water to be stored from Nov. 1 to June 1 with the provisor that the summer flow is not to be disturbed.
