Text: Article by Mrs. Inez B. Johnson gives rain gauge data - i.e. between 25 and 30" since December 16th, 1955. On 12/21/1955 it rained more than 13 inches in 24 hours. The Mattole River rose an inch every 2 minutes. It crested at 12 midnight on December 21st, 1955.
