Text: Ruth Dam is to be completed by December 31, 1961. Still to be constructed are the diversion facilities and pump house of Essex and a pipeline to the future pulp mills of Samoa Peninsula. THe HBMWD also approved an engineering and financial feasibility survey on the district's application for $300,000 in Davis-Grunsky Act funds for recreation. This money would be used to defray cost of added height on dam registered by DF for recreation and fish life.
