At the Ellery Place , across from Dungan Ferry, 5 acres was eroded into the river. Not many years ago a 40 acre field laid between the dwelling house and the river. At Pleasant Point immense tracts of land were eroded away. Much of the land near the river is densely covered with drift. It will take all summer to clean it up.
