Text: "Road Expenditures" funds for road construction and maintenance have been under the supervision of road overseers and the Times feels much money has been squandered. This year will be the last in which road overseers have charge of the road work. After January 1st next year the Supervisors of the BOS will have control of roadwork expenditures on all public highways. If they can employ competent surveyors and let work by contract, holding the contractor to the plans and specifications, the Standard believes we will have better roads.
