Text
The road from Scotia to Shively has been widened is some spot and resurfaced. It was originally cut through mountainous terrain in 1953. Two wooden bridges were replaced this summer with corrugated metal culverts. The original road was constructed from August to December 1953 by John Peterson of Eureka who was the low bidder. The article includes a photo looking south from the high point overlooking Shively and the Eel River.
