Text: "Lines From the Times" August 11, 1855 - The BOS decided on the location of roads from Arcata to Mad River. The Preston Road was declared to be a highway as far as the NE corner of Christensen's field, the road then forking - one branch going to Nixon's Ferry and the other to the lower crossing of Mad River. August 13, 1891 - The Road from Hoopa to Willow Creek is nearly completed, with only a half mile left to make the connection.
